One More Old School Picture

One more from Austin:

Miscellaneous Happenings

We walked to school on April 22nd (Earth Day), and I meant to write down just a few things that caught my attention from that morning and the few days before and after:

Mary-Kensley has started to try to tickle me ... and she's getting pretty good at it. She also does nice things for Olivia, like helps Olivia up when she’s fallen.

Olivia is really starting to talk and say lots of words (like "hello" and "mine") and parts of words. She also does lots of tasks: she threw something in the trash, brought Elaine her shoes, ran around the house in a circle like MK does, and picked up a nickel that MK didn’t want. Olivia is also starting to wear outfits that Nathan and MK used to wear, like the orange Pooh Bear shirt.

It's amazing how much and how quickly these kids are growing up.

New Song Nathan Is Singing

REO Speedwagon's "Can't Fight This Feeling" from 1984.

Old School Pictures

My friend Austin Kirkland sent me these two pictures from way back in 1991-92.

This is the Resident Assistant staff of North Carrick Hall at U.T. living it up at Hooters.

Here we are again, this time several years later at a reunion at Austin's parent's home in Loudon, TN.

Finally in Townsend, TN, for Caleb and Leslie's wedding. It was a long car trip with the kids.

Kindergarten Year

Memories from Nathan’s kindergarten year: buying a backpack, practicing for the bus, first day, Mrs. Marchant, not wanting to go, lice, sight words, riding the bus, Mrs. Dalton, learning to write, Thanksgiving dinner in your class, field trips, Charlie, friends, Mrs. Marchant & Kenzie, report cards, reading!, math, Barack Obama, safeties, green bunny, being brave, Spring Fling, getting to go on stage during the pep rally, gym class, library books, horseshoe, walking you to class each morning, holding your hand, eating lunch with you, tardy slip, picking you up from school early when you had a fever, wiggly teeth, losing your first tooth, being quieter than 5th graders!, bringing you to my office after school and going to 7-11 on the way, 7 weeks left … it has gone by so quickly. I love you little boy.
